In 1970, Tiff Needell attended a dedicated school at Brands Hatch to learn how to race, but he entered this field by taking first place in an Autosport magazine contest with a Lotus 69 Formula Ford. As the years went by, Tiff was able to compete in numerous series and championships, including Formula Ford, Formula 3, British Rallycross, the 24 Hours of Le Mans, BTCC, and FIA GT. What has he been doing since finishing his long career in racing?
Tiff Needell’s Career
Tim “Tiff” Needell hosted episodes of Top Gear’s original format from Series 17 in 1987 to Series 45 in 2001. Due to his Formula 1 experience, he would appear in over 236 episodes and be in charge of most of the professional driving scenes. Needell was not a frequent presenter for the majority of his time on the program. He was only used occasionally for this reason because the show did not have such a strong emphasis on performance cars until the 1990s. He was the third most frequent presenter in Series 21 despite this. He wouldn’t join the main cast until the 27th season.
What is he doing now?
Needell was searching for a new seat to call his own, much like a racing driver who has been fired from his team. Needell has begun presenting Lovecars: On the Road alongside YouTube star Paul Woodman. Needell has previously assisted Lovecars on its YouTube channel, but it’s now taking things a step further to offer its audience a full-fledged show. Thanks to its partnership with Needell and a variety of car videos, the Lovecars YouTube channel has steadily increased its fan base over time.
As well, on his Instagram, you can see that he is spending quality time with his family and friends. On holiday, at a restaurant, or at the race track. You can see that his passion for cars has not changed and clearly runs in the family.
He has also been doing public speeches about topics such as:
- Drive & Determination
- Peak Performance
- Motivation & Inspiration
- Motorsports & Driving
- Maximising Success
