Elizabeth Rizzini

Elizabeth Rizzini is a Met Office-trained BBC weather presenter and broadcaster, recognised for her engaging and authoritative forecasts across BBC television and radio.

A familiar face to viewers across the UK, Elizabeth has presented weather forecasts across regional, national and international BBC platforms. Her broadcasting credits include BBC Breakfast, the BBC News at One, Six and Ten, BBC World, BBC Radio 4 and BBC Radio 5 Live.

Combining a strong understanding of meteorology with a natural and accessible broadcasting style, Elizabeth has built an impressive career communicating everything from everyday weather to major weather events and wider climate-related issues.

Elizabeth has a particular passion for astronomy and space weather. She has produced and presented specialist stargazing forecasts for BBC Weather and The Sky at Night, bringing together her interests in meteorology, science and broadcasting. Her forecast surrounding the Mars rover mission even found its way onto Channel 4’s Gogglebox.

She has also produced and presented features for programmes including Newsround and Antiques Roadshow and is a regular presence at Wimbledon, where she has delivered forecasts from one of the world’s most famous sporting events.

Born in London and raised in Croydon, Elizabeth has an international background, having lived and studied in both France and Spain. She spent several years based in Madrid before returning to the UK to complete a Master’s degree focusing on environmental journalism and climate change.

Her early experience in broadcast meteorology included compiling and presenting a bilingual jellyfish forecast for Spanish coastal resorts before she went on to undertake professional meteorological training with the Met Office.

Fluent in Spanish and Italian, Elizabeth’s combination of scientific knowledge, broadcasting experience and international outlook makes her equally at home presenting live television, interviewing, moderating discussions and hosting events.

Away from broadcasting, Elizabeth has supported a number of charitable causes and completed the London Marathon in 2016.

With extensive live broadcasting experience and an ability to make complex subjects clear, informative and engaging, Elizabeth is an accomplished television presenter and an experienced choice for corporate events, awards, conferences and projects involving weather, climate, science and the environment.
