Alessandro Sciglio was born in Catania in Sicily in 1971 and he lived in Taormina, Sicily until the age of 24 before starting his acting career.  Alessandro Sciglio was a professional tennis player between the ages of 16 and 23 with excellent results and after suffering a serious ankle injury, he decided to retire from tennis and signed up  in the experimental center of cinematography in Roma,  where he attended for 3 years and graduated. 

In 1998 he made his first film for the cinema with the role of a young colonel during the war of 1915 directed by Pasqua Squitieri.  His career was consolidated with a successful TV series. 

In 2001 he moved to New York for a few months where he attended the Circle in the Square Theatre School and in the meantime he shot some short films for emerging film directors. Alessandro’s latest work was a TV series for the Italian channel RAI followed by more than 10 million viewers per episode.
