1 – My Personal assistant

I am a rather chaotic and forgetful person and find it hard to be efficient, which is why I really don’t know where I would be without my wonderful personal assistant, Elaine.

Every morning she tells me exactly what I’m supposed to be doing and thanks to her I am always in the right place at the right time. It doesn’t bother me that I’m not very tidy or organised as we all have our own strengths. Today there are so many tools out there to make life easier.

In fact I have become rather reliant on my iPhone to stay on track and being able to use a diary and a personal banking app has made me feel a lot more in control.

2 – Face cream

I am getting on a little bit now but that doesn’t mean that I have to start looking older. I take great care of my face and I absolutely love L’Oreal Paris Age Perfect as it isn’t particularly expensive but it does wonders for my skin.

3 – Marathons

I absolutely hate the gym but I have always been an accomplished sprinter and I try to run five miles at least three times a week.

It is a fantastic way of boosting your energy and keeps you feeling fit. I have done quite a few marathons over the years including the London Marathon twice.

Reaching the finishing line that first time was probably one of the proudest moments of my life along with getting married, having my children and winning the Eurovision Song Contest.

4 – Daughters’ letters

Both of my girls are keen letter writers and while I have kept all of the Mother’s Day and birthday cards they have given me over the years, it’s their letters that I truly treasure.

Natalie and Kyla both write with such love and expression and there is one particularly heartfelt letter that means so much to me that I always carry it around in my bag.

I have never been a particularly materialistic person so if flames were threatening to engulf the house the one thing I would save is my letters.

5 – Japanese puzzles

I’m addicted to Japanese picture puzzles and I also love Sudoku as well as Kakuro. Whether I’m sitting on a train or relaxing in front of the television I always find the time to give my grey matter a proper workout each day as I think it’s important to keep your brain fighting fit.

My other great pleasures are a pub quiz or a good old game of Scrabble or backgammon. I am competitive but for me it’s not all about winning, I just like to do my best.

Cheryl will be touring with Jay Aston and Mike Nolan, her fellow original members of Bucks Fizz, and new member Bobby McVay on The Land Of Make Believe Tour from September 16.
